Becca is a Chicago native who found her home in Arizona when she moved cross-country in 2018. She served as the Palatine Girls' Feeder Basketball League's Director of the Board from 2010 to 2017 but never played a sport herself until she went from couch to court and transformed her body and life when she caught the Pickleball bug in 2019. Today, as a PPR Certified Coach and ambassador of the game, she uses her contagious energy and explosive Pickleball passion to teach people of all ages and fitness levels. Come see why her students have named her The DINKTATOR.
I was overweight, isolated, sedentary, and very unhappy when I left Chicago for state 48. Although the weather helped change my eating habits some, it was pickleball that transformed my body. As a happy side effect, I went from a very soft & tired 198 pound lonely couch potato to a woman who is regularly asked
if she competes in bodybuilding competitions...
(I don't go to the gym! Ready Position
is a fabulous calisthenic workout! )
On top of the weight loss, playing pickleball regularly has helped me to build muscles around my injured right knee. 20 years after an ACL replacement, I currently require a knee replacement, yet I play daily.
It wasn't a hike, because I was hardly in physical condition to climb the 13 stairs from the ground to my second floor apartment without difficulty.
It's obviously nice to be happy with my physical body for the first time in my life, but the bigger impact was made on my mind, soul, and worldview. This game has helped me to see opportunities where I once saw a roadblocks, friends where I once saw opposition, and allowed me to finally find my purpose, my path, and a place where I belong.
I don't recognize the sad woman here trying to force enough of a smile to convince other people that she was just fine. I am endlessly grateful for everything this game and the community that plays it have provided me.

It's a lofty idea, I know, but I think pickleball could save the world. In my humble opinion, technology and devices have separated us from our fellow humans... Isolation from Covid-19 intensified the desire for convenience and speed over humanity and touch.
Pickleball is played on a short court; it's easy to banter while you play, and if you aren't laughing at some point, you might be doing it all wrong. All ages and fitness levels can participate at some level, and good-natured ribbing is not only allowed, but encouraged; it's good for the body, mind, and soul.
Pickleball is my church and my therapy and my gym. Having the honor of bringing this game and community into people's lives brings me fulfillment, happiness and makes me feel like a Conduit to Joy ❤️
